NIMD (None-Invasive Medical Devices) is an innovative medical device startup company at the pre-clinical stage that is focused on the treatment of cancer. The company is seeking funding for Round A and is also looking for strategic partnerships The technology is based on an ablative device that utilizes a noninvasive localized microwave radiation device combined with FDA approved nanoparticles that are injected into the tumors. The specific properties of these nanoparticles allow for attachment to cancer cells only. As the nanoparticles absorb microwave radiation much more effectively than the surrounding tissue, we are able to heat and destroy tumors without damaging the surrounding healthy tissue. The device can also detect tumors at an early stage.
The device, in its prototype form, has been tested on mice injected with cancer and has shown excellent results: within 3-4 days of the treatment, the tumor volume was eliminated.
Our first indication is Breast Cancer where the device may reduce or even eliminate the need for surgical lumpectomy or mastectomy. The technology may also be applied for other types of cancers including Glioblastoma, Skin Melanoma, and Head & Neck. The company is currently in the process of raising funds for its operation. It plans to take the product to the US and European markets after going through the regulatory processes.
